- April 13: Rachel Cherry announces she is stepping down as the only Director of WPCampus
- April to November: A working group was formed and met bi-weekly on the leadership transition
- October 25: WPCampus opened nominations for Board of Directors

- December 6: WordPress 5.0 (including Gutenberg) was released
- December: Tenon selected as vendor to perform the Gutenberg accessibility audit
