WPCampus: Where WordPress meets higher education takes place on July 23-25 in Rochester, New York.

The past six months have been a dynamic time for higher education and the WordPress ecosystem, sparking exciting opportunities for growth and innovation.

In higher education, we're adapting to evolving budgets and the disruption of AI, inspiring us to rethink how we thrive. Meanwhile, the WordPress ecosystem is buzzing with fresh perspectives on leadership, direction, and governance—igniting conversations that will shape the Future of WordPress in Higher Education.

These changes have energized our community, encouraging us to come together, share insights, and build resilient strategies for the road ahead.

Plan for the future at WPCampus 2025

It is more important than ever for the WPCampus community to come together to assess the current state of WordPress in higher education and share ideas, solutions, and a vision towards building our desired future.

Join us at this year's conference to connect, collaborate, and turn challenges into opportunities—we can't wait to see what we'll achieve together!

The annual WPCampus conference will take place July 23 - 25, 2025, in Rochester, New York, United States, at the Hilton Garden Inn, near the University of Rochester campus.

This year's WPCampus is the first time we're focusing our call for proposals around a specific theme: The Future of WordPress in Higher Education.

We're also excited to share and discuss the results from our soon-to-be-released survey on the State of WordPress in Higher Education.

We are designing this year's conference to be more collaborative and discussion-based and are focused on creating space for collaboration through small group sessions, open discussions, and hands-on workshops.

We want to tap into the ideas and experiences that everyone brings, and not just the folks on stage. We want our event to feel more like a conversation than a lecture. We want to help people connect, share, inspire, and learn from one another.

Call for proposals

The WPCampus 2025 call for proposals is open through April 30.

In support of our theme, we are asking our community to answer the following questions:

  • What does the future of WordPress in higher education look like for you?
  • What functionality do you want for your WordPress websites that does not exist?
  • What big ideas do you have for your WordPress websites for the future?
  • What would you build for or with WordPress if you had the time and resources?
  • What would you change about WordPress to support your needs?

We want our community to dream big and share their ideas to gather feedback and generate discussion. These ideas don't have to be fully formed or implemented. You don't have to share a completed project.

We want you to share your vision for the future.

We are also asking our community to share their functional work on the following topics:

  • Governance management
  • Accessibility management
  • Implemented design systems
  • Risk management
  • Using WordPress in the classroom
  • Training and support

For the afternoon of Wednesday, July 23, we are looking for individuals to lead hands-on workshops focused on our theme, to create a space for open discussions and generate ideas and solutions.
