WPCampus 2025 in-person event cancelled, replaced with new online programming

Subscribe to Community Blog updates

The WPCampus Board of Directors has decided to cancel the in-person event in Rochester, New York, and, instead, offer a series of online summits and other virtual content and programming.

While we were excited about the chance to gather in person, a number of considerations led us to this change, and we are committed to making this transition positive for our community.

Our upcoming online events will feature the same high-quality content and opportunities for connection, but in a more flexible and accessible format.

We value the connections made at our in-person event and hope to return to this format in 2026.

Upcoming research event on July 10, 2025

We have already announced that July 10, 2025, will be a day to focus on the results of the State of WordPress in Higher Education Research Project.

We are working to expand the time block. Please “save the date” and plan to spend 2-3 hours with us on in-depth discussions around the research and its results. We will share more information soon.

Still time to complete “State of WordPress in higher education” survey

If you haven’t completed the “State of WordPress in higher education” survey, we have extended the survey window to May 31. We value your time and insight.

The more data we have from across numerous institutions, the better our understanding and analysis.

About this decision

Initial results from the research project have informed our change in programming. More than a single big event, our community needs multiple avenues for interaction, working groups, and connections to peers at other institutions, working together through similar issues.

As part of our new direction, we are working to organize a series of online summits and plan for each half-day summit to be topic-focused.

More topics and events will be announced as we finalize them. Topics may include:

  • accessibility
  • higher ed leadership and processes
  • teaching and learning
  • onboarding campus stakeholders, or
  • curating the editor experience for ourselves and our campus partners

How to get involved with new events

We have notified everyone who submitted proposals and registered for WPCampus 2025.

If you submitted a request for sponsorship information, we will contact you soon with opportunities to sponsor these new events.

If you would like to present at a future WPCampus event, you can register to be a presenter.

We look forward to connecting online and hope more frequent online events will help us better serve our community. We will share more details about these upcoming events soon, including how to register.

We are looking into new tooling to help with event management. We will post all event information on the WPCampus events webpage.

We hope to see you there!
